New Year, New Ways

If you are one of those people who come up with millions of New Years resolutions and manage to accomplish them congrats! But that is not me.... usually (what I always say). I would really like to accomplish at least one of them this year.
Heres a few:
Come Closer to God
Who doesn't need a little extra God in their life. This has been my resolution every year, and no matter if I accomplish it, it'll be on my list until I die. Because there is never a point where you have accomplished where you need to be with Him, there is ALWAYS a step further you can go in your relationship with the Father.

Run More
I am a runner, but I need more practice and I always feel content with myself when I run. The rest is self explanatory. :)

Become More Patient
For those who know me, I am a little unpatient at times. And that just gets on my nerves when I look back on the day and think... "Hmm... maybe I shoulda waited a teensy bit longer" or "I probably shouldn't have snapped like that". It'll be hard but I am going to try!

Hopefully next year when I come back and read this post I can say that I did at least one of these things (or more :))

Happy New Year A Day Later!

Christmas Eve Eve

Christmas is almost here! We can sing our carols and wear our crazy Santa clothes without any raised eyebrows because the usual eyebrow raisers are joining in along with us. All the wild traffic, rushed last minute shopping, and long long lonnnnnng lines at the store are all just the process of the actual coming of x-mas. If there was none of these frustrating experiences it just wouldn't be christmas, now would it?

Wednesday, my family and I were out doing Christmasy things, we went tubing, drank hot chocolate, and got numbed by the cold. I've been busy wrapping, baking, and watching Christmas specials all day and I am loving every bit of it.

In approximately 2 day 5 hours 23 minutes and 12 seconds, Christmas will be here and everyone will see thatall their work, spendings, and hours of looking, are worth it. It is soooo worth it to see someones face light up when they open a gift. Pure joy. Excitement. Surprise. And sometimes Shrieking.... like this kid:

Gift buying, Excitement, and More

Nowadays if someone says Jesus is the reason for the season, most likely you will get some blank stares. But if you say something along the lines of Presents are the reason for the season everyone will be understanding. This is where I like to quote Charlie Brown, "Christmas is too commercial!"

I mean, who doesn't like all the STUFF you get??? But I try to remember that without the little baby in that stable there wouldn't be any new STUFF. So there you have it.

The past weekend was thrilling, filled with Christmas parties and cookies and giving gifts and getting gifts and warmed hearts with cold hands and pizza and bunches other grand things. I went to the mall for some Christmas shopping and saw all the little kiddies dressed up to go see Santa Claus, the big man who can get them that bicycle or Barbie Doll or LEGO set. The little ones got it made. The magic is all there for them. Waking up on Christmas morning, seeing St. Nicholas, the cookies and sweets, the toys, the love, the stories, and the love and excitement show on their faces. And although, I am not as much of a little person any more, my goal this holiday season is to find the magic Christmas once held for me and grab on to it. I want this Christmas to be magical, not from all the gifts and cheesy songs, but from friends, family, and all the things that hold a place in my heart. (sorry for the cheesiness :)

Thinking...

I have been doing a lot of thinking lately... and still am. I have been thinking about Christmas, stress, fun, happiness, family, friends and a whole bunch of other little things. I finally thought maybe I should write this thinking stuff down. So I am. On this blog. I have no idea what will come of it. Hopefully something good. I don't know if anyone will ever read it. I hope some one will. I don't know if it will be a one day write or a 60 year thing. I hope it will be what it will be. There are a bunch of things that I don't know, that I want to know, and some that I will never know. The good thing is, it gives me more things to think about. Somethings I do know:
Thinking is good.

God is good.

My life is good.

Christmas is joyous.

Friends are awesome.

and last...
Cheese is pretty great, especially on a cracker.

Somethings I hope to find out:
Who I am.

Where I will be 10 years from now.

What I can do to help the world.

How many rubberbands are in the worlds largest rubberband ball.

If you know the answers to these questions, do tell please! Now get thinking!
